Asking someone to understand your intention behind a stack of lies is like asking them to translate a foreign language. Of course, Yano would misunderstand Hime's intention.
Another anime misunderstanding that would never happen if they just talked like a normal person.

MRpaisan • 1 year ago

Hime told her she was a liar,
So Yano naturally assumed Hime was lying to her too.
Why wouldn't she honestly.
99% out there would assume Hime was Lying to them.
Also naturally They would feel betrayed.
Especially by some one they thought was their friend.
Betrayal by a friend can be one of the worst types of betrayals.
Number one is betrayal by a lover.
Second is betrayal by family members.

Dazed • 1 year ago

'Hime told her she was a liar'
She will question everything Hime says, but not that. Weird there aren't more things she doesn't question.

You can kinda tell after awhile when someone you know well is or isn't lying, the same way she could tell 'I am a liar' was true.

MRpaisan • 1 year ago

Well for a liar Hime was rather honest with Yano. up until quitting piano, and Honestly I think Hime really did think of Yano as her friend. Her actions spoke louder. Hime didn't like those other girls because they were bullies. It's just how she went about it all that was wrong on her part. Also I'm pretty like 100% sure Yano knew Hime was the same Hime from elementary school. That's why she's so harsh on her, Because she had been nursing the grudge for like what six, seven, or eight years. You don't just forgive, and forget. For that amount of years. Yano seriously hates Hime.

Dazed • 1 year ago

She knew, but kinda weird how she pretended not to know. She thought Hime was lying like useful and pretending not to know and she decided to play along with the pretend. A very non-Yano thing to do.

MRpaisan • 1 year ago

Yeah, also likely Hime's actions spoke that she didn't know who she was to begin with. Yano though When she showed her school id to her, She said along the lines of Typical of Hime, Mentioned she assumed she was lying. Yano Likely knew Who Hime was from the moment she walked into the café. Yano clearly didn't forget Hime of course grudges can last decades to get over. Yano clearly holds a deep Grudge against Hime. Will be interesting to see how the story plays out in future episodes. Here I thought it was going to be a simple Yuri anime lol.

Dazed • 1 year ago

Can't say I care too much tbh. Neither are very likeable. The setting where most stuff takes place is bland. Neither are the deuteragonists or side-characters very memorable.

But don't let that stop you from enjoying this show.

Enorme-san • 1 year ago

Someone with common sense finally, everyone acting like Hime is an innocent angel and Yano the devil lol like she could literally talk it out with Yano about stopping playing the piano but she did all this illogical stuff without saying a thing and still pretended to be friends with the girls that tried to trick the teachers instead of telling them to piss off…

Leo Aestron • 1 year ago

I disagree that Hime is the only one to be blamed for this.
Well it is true that Hime made it complicated.

But, after being friend with her for quite a while, Yano should be able to tell whether Hime is lying about something or not.
Yano is either dumb or dense, not trying to find out the reason behind why her friend quited playing piano with her. Rather, she just straight going in the class and shamed her.

What I dislike about Yano is the fact that she could've just talked about it with Hime privately, yet she went ahead to shame people.
I have seen many of these people irl, came out in front of others and spouting things to make someone suffer even if the victim is innocent.
But, then when truth is exposed, refused to apologize because ashamed and the person who suffered was scarred for no reason. That kind of person is either also an attention seeker or piece of shit.

Hime putting up an act is easily understandable. No one want to be disliked, it simply makes sense that people put up a facade in front of others despite not liking them.

Have you not ever put up an act in front of others in school?
Just because your friend hangs out with people you and them disliked, doesn't means they betrayed you.

You can say Hime was being illogical, but Yano was a jerk who do not deserve Hime.

Qween Qingzanor • 1 year ago

They're both full of crap & didn't seem to mature much as adolescents.
& even as children, their illogic could've been minimized if Critical Thinking Education were taught from infancy (the same way Asian prodigies learn supposedly advanced things very early).

Leo Aestron • 1 year ago

There, there...
That kinda exaggerated there.
It is true that we have Critical Thinking Education something like HOTS [High Order Thinking Skill], but that doesn't really makes us all genius XD

But, I don't think this is a matter of critical thinking, this is more to EQ related issues. The kids lacking the ability to fully understand and manage their relationships.

But, what happened between them was during elementary school times.
I just read the manga, I guarantee you wouldn't be disappointed in next episode.

Qween Qingzanor • 1 year ago

Despite what many think, logic/rationality vs feelings/emotions is a False Dichotomy, they aren't mutually exclusive. Emotions can be linked to logic provided emotions don't disagree with evidence.
The point of Logical Critical Thinking Education from infancy is to make it intuitive to minimize fallacies in everyday life, eg. more logical thinking would make Kanako less easily paranoid hence less likely to be jealous of Hime interacting with Mitsuki.

I did read ahead & it relies on common cliches especially Miscommunication Cliches, & Hime continues to be extremely naive.

Masumi • 1 year ago

Luckily, they're standing in front of Chekhovs piano, so I have hope they're gonna clear that misunderstanding up soon.

Man, it really feels like the weeks pass by so slowly. The wait for each episode seem sooooo long. Same with Oshi no Ko.

Either way, it's time for some sweeeeet sweet Yuri

Mega-Chad-Type-Hero • 1 year ago

You could always just watch every single episode of all of the different animé-series being released this season, and, each and every day will end up being all day animé-watching, nearly every day, then, you will «time fly» and end up at the next week by the time you manage to actually finish watching everything else...

One always lies and is well liked until they see through the ruse.
One always brusquely tells the truth and isn't all that well liked until they understand she means well.

Moral of the story: don't do either.

Both is at fault more Hime than Yano....

But at the end of the day they both hurt each other T^T

Who's Rem? • 1 year ago

I don't see how Yano is at fault.

Kahale • 1 year ago

so her betraying hime was a ok thing to do? both are wrong more so hime for being a liar and playing both sides, despite her best intentions. considering that both don't want to talk about it, it's going to be a thing until the end of the series.

ramenmen • 1 year ago

Betrayal is betrayal even if it's misunderstanding. You shouldn't go around telling she's lying to literally ruined her life in school. And u said u can't see how Yano is at fault? Try to imagine yourself in her situation and you might see how Yano is also at fault

Tsukkiss my ass • 1 year ago

u just cant be liked by everybody

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

Thats a very disappointing backstory, Yano trusted Hime a lot when they were children now they both hates each other, Hime need to change or she will not be liked by no one.

I understand Yano pain and suffering, she has been lied to in her face, Hime thats unacceptable.

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

Good but very sad episode.

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

Hime have to stop all this lying, people will stop hanging around her.

Thats why Yano is so, most of the blame is on Hime.

Paradise SLU • 1 year ago

She have to change, has to stop the lying habit.

Thats how she lost friends.

L0S3R • 1 year ago

So basically the reason their relationship become this sour was due to those four dumbass and hime just couldn't be honest for once and to make matters worse hime deicided to handle the situation in the worst way possible. Like dude I honestly can't withstand hime anymore, if she doesn't have any development regarding why she turned out the way she is being fake and dishonest to other people I'm seriously gonna drop this anime lol. Hime just pisses me off with her twisted personality even though that's the whole point of her character (which was actually done well ). I understand that both of them are at fault for why everything is the way that it is but still if hime would just be honest from the very beginning this whole shit probably wouldn't have happened and the fact that she dare say that yano betrayed her just the last straw for me, she literally dug her own grave and yet she continues to blame someone else and not acknowledging her own fault.

Pukoy • 1 year ago

Hime was so fake, she's still fake... looks like she didn't learn anything from her previous mistakes.

When someone know our past
That scar never that easy get out
be careful of ur bullier maybe they one division with u now and someday gonna break the fake mask u made

yurification • 1 year ago

Hime chan reminds me of myself (well former self) i used to pretend to be interested in people too or i always wanted to keep up with them until i just couldnt (since im also an introvert too). the real me is someone more like yuno and im much more comfortable this way

EDIT: oh wow though what a backstory >-<
